  • Apache = A Open Source web server
  • In The middle of Scandinavia = Skovde have approximate the same distance to all three capital city of Scandinavia Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Oslo (Norway).
  • Linux = Linux is an Open Source operating system, within the Unix family, developed by Linus Thorvalds. Because of its robustness and availability, Linux has won popularity in the Open Source community as well as among commercial application developers.
  • MySQL = A Swedish Open Source SQL database.
  • OpenOffice = A Open Source replacement to Microsoft popular office product Microsoft Office.
  • Samba = A Open Source based printer and file replacement for Windows NT, 2000 and 2003 server.
  • Server Based Computing = Instead of running application on every user client, all application is running on a central server. If all application is running on the server the client can be a very simple, cheap and dumb client so called ThinClient.
  • TCO = Total Cost of Ownership, i.e the total cost for a company and organization to purchase, setup, install, manage and administrate a system.
  • TCO-friendly = System, product or solution that have low TCO.
  • ThinClient = See Server Based Computing, above
  • TUX = Is the mascot for the Open Source operating system Linux.
  • UNIX = A family of multi-user and multi-tasking operating systems, example of Unix Opearting System are Sun Solaris/SunOS, IBM AIX, HP HP-UX, HP/Digital Tru64, Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD and NetBSD.
