  • On-site consultant: In this case the consultant is working at the customer as a Unix, Network, Database or Security administration often side by side with the customer own IT/IS staff. This consulting service can be used by companies who either need temporary extra resource in the IT/IS group or need to temporary complement their IT/IS staff with a person who have a special competence and experience.
  • Remote consultant: The same as on-site consultant but instead of working at the customer site she/he work remotely from our office in a secure and confidential way. This service is for companies and organizations who only need to use our services a few hours every week or months.
  • Expert consultant: Our consultant will function as n:th line of support and as a expert resource to the customer ordinary IT/IS staff. This service is for customer who already have a IT/IS staff that can take care of the day-to-day work with their IT/IS infrastructure but may require extra assistance to solve complex problem, deployment of new services, disaster recovery cases and so on.
  • Project consultant,: Our consultants perform a specific project for the customer, the project can either be IT/IS infrastructure project like deploying a new services, implementation of a new security systems or a software development project.

Today the OpenSource community is large and OpenSource products have quickly become popular in the last years both for computers geeks but even for non-IT/IS companies and organization. Today more and more companies and organizations have started to use some OpenSource products, like Linux, Apache, MySQL, OpenOffice, PHP, Samba and even more companies and organization are planning or thinking of starting to use OpenSource products in their IT/IS infrastructure. Interoperability and Integration

Few larger companies or organization today have a true homogeneous IT/IS infrastructure with only one or few IT suppliers, the most companies today run different operating systems like Windows, Unix, Linux and MacOS on clients or/and servers. Many companies and organization who today run different operating systems, application, databases and system from different vendors have no or little integration between the systems which lead to higher TCO, more administration burden for the IT/IS staff, more hassle for the end users and that the companies can't benefit to 100% from their IT/IS investments.

For example a lot of companies who today run both Windows, Unix and Linux clients, servers and systems have double or even triple login and passwords for the users, one for the UNIX-system, other one for the Windows-systems, other for the payroll systems and one for the Web-systems which lead to security problem, hassle for the end-users and the IT/IS staff. Other example can be that Windows and UNIX/Linux-users have problem to share printers, files between them. Through the rapid development and spread of Internet and Information Technology (IT) in the last years have IT/IS system such as email, GroupWare?, web, ERP, CRM, e-business system and Internet banking quickly become business critical systems both for small, medium and large organization in any industry. The consequence from this situation are that IT/IS security is something that should interest and concern all individuals, companies and organization no matter how big or small or in which industry they operate in.

Today IT/IS security have become really hot (at least part of IT/IS security) everyone talk about IT/IS security today, even daily newspapers like DN (Dagens Nyheter) in Sweden and Washington Post in US have articles about IT/IS security topics like Virus, hackers, Internet credit cards frauds and sometime information about how to upgrade to the latest Service Pack on Windows XP.

Server based computing

One of the biggest problem that IT/IS staff at companies and organization have today and that take the most of their time and resource are due to desktop problem and the support ad administration of the desktops. Companies and organization today often have many hundreds or even ten of thousands of desktops from different vendors like Dell, IBM, HP and even smaller local vendors running different Operating Systems like Windows, Linux, Solaris or MacOS, to complicate it even more the case is often that two desktop with the same Operating System can have two different version of the Operating System, two different desktops can also have different application installed, one desktop have the company ERP client installed other desktop have the company CRM installed as well and yet other desktop have instead PhotoShop? installed and so on. As everybody understand this lead to high administration cost for the companies and organizations.

Medium and large-sized companies who often have more than hundreds of installed desktops need to have dedicated full-time IT/IS staff only working with users and their desktop problems. The problem a user can have with a desktop can be everything from hardware problem like hard drive crash, fan problem, problem with the Operating Systems, problem with application, wrong version of the Operating Systems or wrong version of the application, corrupt data on the hard drive etc etc. When the user can't use his/her desktop the company lose money double or triple, when the user wait to get his/he desktop up and running he/she can't work and in the same time the IT/IS staff need to spend valid time on firefighting with the user desktop.

Other problem that the end user don't notice nor care about is the security aspect of having large deployment of desktops, every desktops need to be managed and administrated, the IT/IS staff need to apply both Operating Systems and application patches to all desktops as soon as the patches have been released from the vendors, Anti-virus filters need to be up-to-date on all desktops, companies who also use Host based IDS and firewalls need to have the signature database and firewall configuration up-to-date on all desktops, today desktop also make it easy for the end user to transfer files to and from work and by accident save files on the desktop instead of on the central servers.

Today it exists different application that try to assist a IT/IS group and to solve some of the problem and drawback with desktops, example of such products are change management systems, configuration management systems, application deployment management systems. Our firmly believe is that the only conclusion you can make from the situation of desktops in today IT/IS infrastructure is that the root problem is actual the desktop and the best way to get ride of the problem is to replace the desktop with something else, but what can we replace the desktop with? Our answer is some sort of Server Based Computing system also called for Thin Clients solution.Today it exists Thin Client solution both for Windows, Unix, Linux both commercial solution as well as OpenSource based solutions.

We see a really great business potential in the combination of security service, OpenSource, network service and Server Based Computing as a away for us to help our customer to lower the TCO and administration overhead for their IT/IS infrastructure as well as increasing the reliability, availability and security of it.
